Since graduating from the University of Mississippi in 1975, Gary Garland has passionately pursued the skills and sought the wisdom to meet the real estate needs of his clients. As a result, Garland has produced an outstanding track record which includes positions of leadership at each step of his career as well as Multi-Million $ales since 1978. Garlandʼs leadership roles include: Sales Manager for Ken Garland Co. Realtors, Founder & Exec. V.P. of Crye-Leike Commercial Division in 1983, Founder & President of RFS Realty Corporation in 1988, and founder & CEO of Garland Company Real Estate in 1993. Garland Company Real Estate is headquartered in the heart of the commercial district of the world-famous Harbor Town Community on the banks of the Mississippi river in Downtown Memphis.
The Garland Companyʼs Arkansas office is located on the Town Square in Mountain View, AR and serves the Ozark Mountain region. The Arkansas branch focuses on bringing investors, retirees and families to discover the natural beauty of the Ozarks and purchase or construct cabins and family vacation hideways along the area rivers, creeks and streams in order to enjoy this peaceful way of life. In 1998, Gary began focusing on the real estate development and renaissance of Downtown Memphis. In partnership with Steve Bryan, Jack Belz, and Henry Turley, he helped develop and broker the sale of Harbor Town Square Apartments and Island Park Apartments on Mud Island. In 1999, he developed Harbor Townʼs first mixed-use building, Harbor Town Centre, which today is one of Downtownʼs first-class examples of the "Live, Work, Play" lifestyle. In 2002, he won Downtown's "Historic Preservation Award" for the Hotline Lofts at 421 South Main. Hotline was a vintage 1912 heavy timber warehouse renovated into Main Street level retail and converted into fifteen loft apartments, which recently sold out as Hotline Loft Condominiums. His most ambitious development effort was the Downtown Memphis Riverfront high-rise formerly known as The Horizon at 717 Riverside Dr; now under new ownership being marketed at "The Artesian". Serving as Horizon Development Manager, Gary was responsible for its 50% pre-sale status, prior to construction in 2007. During his 40 plus year real estate brokerage career, Gary Garland's extensive performance has accomplished several hundred million dollars in closed real estate transactions and has established him as one of the most experienced Realtors in Memphis.
Today, Gary's primary focus is developing the expertise and skills of the Garland Company Real Estate Team. The company consists of individual residential and commercial teams focused on various parts of both the Memphis and Central Arkansas real estate scenes. Kathryn Garland grew up in a real estate family and has a love and appreciation for the business that was cultivated from a young age. As a second generation Realtor, she entered the Real Estate Business in 2009 after completing real estate school and receiving her Real Estate License and joined her father to create the Garland Team. Having originally studied at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, she returned to Memphis and majored in Real Estate at the University of Memphis. Kathryn has lived all over the city of Memphis from Germantown, Midtown to Downtown and has extensive knowledge of the areas including neighborhoods and school districts. She believes in educating her clients on the home buying and selling process and ensuring her clients that she will guide them through this process with as much ease as possible. Her father and business partner, Gary Garland, has been in the business since 1975 and is a Realtor Emeritus. Kathryn holds several real estate designations and certifications such as CRS, Certified Residential Specialist, SRS, Seller Representative Specialist and ABR, Accredited Buyers Representative. She is a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors, Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR), Tennessee Area Association of Realtors (TAR) and National Association of Realtors (NAR). Kathryn is a member of MAAR’s Multi Million Dollar Club, she was the 2016 Women’s Council of Realtors Local Treasurer and 2017 Membership Chair and a member of the 2016 Leadership MAAR class. She also serves as a Director on the Memphis Area Association of Realtors Board of Directors for 2017/2018. I help buyers and sellers with all of their real estate needs, from finding them a home or selling their existing home. I negotiate on their behalf, walk them through the process from contract to close. I like for the home buying and selling process to be an exciting and fun one because home ownership is wonderful experience.
